A proud artist!
Huzzah! Summer has faded into autumn!

To celebrate the change of the seasons, the Nesconset Branch hosted a story time called Autumn Owls. Preschoolers learned all about our favorite nocturnal animals and listened to

After stories and songs, children created a colorful collage owl, using fancy patterned paper, glitter, popsicle sticks and imagination!

Miss Maggie’s New Jam!

Put down your banana phone! The Verve Pipe has a great children’s album The Family Album. The lyrics are not only catchy and fun, but well constructed and witty. The song Be Part of the Band, encourages children to become rock stars, but gives them advice to wait on getting a manager and publicist. Songs range from fun pop-rock to quirky and jazzy. This album will surely become any child’s favorite and one adults won’t mind putting on repeat.  Check out their website for a preview of this album!

Out Door Art – Spray Paint Art

Think arts and crafts are for rainy days? Think again! On Friday, September 9 preschoolers met at the Nesconset Branch of the Smithtown Library for Spray Paint Art. After songs and silly stories about colors, counting and painting, preschoolers used spray bottles, filled with diluted paint to spray color on large piece of paper. The best parts of out door art – the colorful nature that surrounds you for inspiration and the outdoors makes clean up a breeze!
